2-1/8″ x 8″ Brake Cylinder Flex-Hone – 320 Grit

Features:

  • Silicon carbide abrasive type.
  • A resilient, flexible honing tool with a soft cutting action.
  • The abrasive globules each have independent suspension that assures the Flex-Hone(R) to be self-centering, self-aligning to the bore, and self-compensating for wear.

Applications:

  • Used to hone brake cylinders.

How to Use:

  1. Inspect the brake cylinder for any damage.
  2. Clean the brake cylinder with a degreaser.
  3. Apply a light coat of honing oil to the Flex-Hone(R).
  4. Insert the Flex-Hone(R) into the brake cylinder and hone the bore in a back-and-forth motion.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the desired finish is achieved.
  6. Remove the Flex-Hone(R) from the brake cylinder and clean the bore with a degreaser.

Cautions:

  • Do not use the Flex-Hone(R) on a brake cylinder that is damaged.
  • Do not use the Flex-Hone(R) on a brake cylinder that is overheated.
  • Do not use the Flex-Hone(R) on a brake cylinder that is wet.
  • Do not use the Flex-Hone(R) on a brake cylinder that is not properly lubricated.

Storage:

Store the Flex-Hone(R) in a cool, dry place.
